YHWH is the Original Zionist
Zionism didn’t begin in 1897. It began in the mind of God before the foundation of the world.
Before there was a United Nations, before there was an Israelite nation, God wrote “Zion” into His eternal plan — as the place of His presence, the center of His covenant, and the stage for Messiah’s reign.
⸻
1. God Chose the Land and the People
Genesis 17:8 — “I will give to you and to your offspring… all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession, and I will be their God.”
This is not symbolic — “everlasting” means forever. God’s ownership of the Land is as permanent as His own existence.
Deuteronomy 32:8–9 — “The LORD’s portion is His people, Jacob His allotted heritage.”
Out of all nations, God set apart the Jewish people for Himself — not because they were numerous or righteous, but because of His sovereign choice (Deut. 7:7–8).

2. God Chose Zion as His Dwelling
“Zion” appears over 150 times in the Old Testament and multiple times in the New Testament — never as a mere metaphor for the Church, but as the literal city of God’s choice.
Psalm 132:13–14 — “The LORD has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His dwelling place: ‘This is My resting place forever; here I will dwell, for I have desired it.’”
Forever means God’s choice of Jerusalem has no expiration date. Its destiny is bound to His name and His glory.

3. God Promised to Regather Israel
Ezekiel 36:24 — “I will take you from the nations and gather you from all the countries and bring you into your own land.”
God didn’t say “a land,” but “your own land.” Israel belongs to the Jewish people because God gave it to them.
Jeremiah 16:14–16 — “‘I will bring them back to their own land that I gave to their fathers… I am sending for many fishers… and many hunters.’”
In our time, we’ve seen the “fishers” through immigration incentives — and the “hunters” through persecution driving Jews home.
Fulfilled in part: In the past century, Jews have returned from over 100 nations, reviving Hebrew (Zeph. 3:9) and turning deserts into farmland (Isa. 35:1).

4. God Defends Zion
Zechariah 12:3 — “On that day I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples. All who lift it will surely hurt themselves.”
Nations that try to manipulate, divide, or destroy Jerusalem find themselves crushed under the weight of God’s decree. History is littered with the ruins of empires that opposed Zion.
⸻
5. God Will Reign from Zion
Micah 4:1–2 — “For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.”
In the Millennial Kingdom, Jerusalem won’t just be Israel’s capital — it will be the governmental and spiritual capital of the world.
Zechariah 14:9, 16 — “The LORD will be king over all the earth… then everyone… shall go up year after year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts.”
God’s Zionism ends not in a political state, but in a Messianic Kingdom where Jesus rules from Jerusalem.

Some claim “Modern Israel isn’t biblical Israel.”
Jeremiah 31:35–37 — God ties Israel’s survival to the permanence of the sun, moon, and stars. As long as they shine, Israel remains.
Ezekiel 36:22–24 — The regathering happens not because Israel is righteous, but “for My holy name’s sake.” God’s covenant is not subject to Israel’s perfection, but to His own faithfulness.

Every time you see Israel’s flag flying over Jerusalem, you are watching prophecy in motion.
Every return flight landing at Ben Gurion Airport is another line in God’s script.
Every prayer for the peace of Jerusalem is an alignment with heaven’s plan.
The Zion of Scripture is the Jerusalem of prophecy — past, present, and future — and its story will end with the Son of David reigning from the very city He chose.
