Why Do the Jews Reject Christ Their King?
Not all do.
Thousands of Jews believed in Jesus then—and today.
“So too at the present time there is a remnant, chosen by grace.” (Romans 11:5)
There has always been a faithful Jewish remnant who believe in Messiah.
God allowed a partial hardening.
“A partial hardening has come upon Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.” (Romans 11:25)
This spiritual blindness is temporary and serves God’s timing and plan.
They expected a political Messiah.
“He was despised and rejected by men… pierced for our transgressions.” (Isaiah 53:3,5)
Many missed the suffering servant prophecies and wanted deliverance from Rome, not sin.
Religious leaders feared losing power.
“If we let Him go on, the Romans will come and take away both our place and our nation.” (John 11:48)
Pride and fear led to the rejection of their own King.
God isn’t finished with Israel.
“The gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.” (Romans 11:29)
God’s promises to Israel still stand. He has not cast them off.
—
“They will look on Me, whom they have pierced… and mourn.” (Zechariah 12:10)
One day, national Israel will recognize Jesus as Messiah—with broken hearts and open eyes.

Jesus is still their King. And He’s coming soon.
