When the Sky Splits Open: An Hour Before and After the Second Coming
History is racing toward its greatest collision: the hour when mankind’s rebellion meets the blazing glory of the returning King. Scripture pulls back the curtain and lets us glimpse the hour before His appearing—and the hour after.
⸻
The Hour Before His Return
Zechariah 14:2 — “I will gather all the nations to Jerusalem to battle.”
The nations unite, convinced they can erase Israel once and for all. They march in arrogance—but God gathers them like sheep to slaughter. The battlefield they choose becomes their graveyard.
Matthew 24:29 — “The sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall.”
The heavens collapse, the cosmos convulses. Yet mankind refuses to repent—they curse God even as creation itself dies around them (Revelation 16:21).
Zechariah 12:10 — “They will look on me, on him whom they have pierced.”
At that very moment, Israel breaks. The nation Satan tried to destroy lifts its eyes to the Pierced One. Centuries of hardness melt into national mourning—and the veil is lifted.
Daniel 7:13–14 — “They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.”
Daniel saw it first: “Behold, with the clouds of heaven there came one like a son of man…to him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve him.”
That prophecy—cherished by Israel for centuries—is fulfilled in a single moment as the sky ignites with divine glory.

The Appearing of the King
Revelation 19:11 — “Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse!”
The Antichrist boasts of global dominion. But heaven itself rips apart—and the true Rider descends.
Revelation 19:14; Jude 14 — “The armies of heaven…were following him.”
The proud armies of earth lift their eyes and tremble. An innumerable host rides in behind the King, radiant and unstoppable.
Zechariah 14:4–5 — “On that day his feet shall stand on the Mount of Olives…and the Mount of Olives shall be split in two.”
The mountain that once received Him splits beneath His feet. Creation itself bends to its Maker, opening a valley of deliverance for His people.
2 Thessalonians 2:8 — “The Lord Jesus will kill [the Antichrist] with the breath of his mouth.”
The counterfeit christ collapses instantly. All the blasphemy, all the propaganda, all the boasting—ended in a word.

The Hour After His Return
Revelation 19:17–18, 21 — “Come, gather for the great supper of God.”
The armies that mocked Him lie broken. The carrion birds feast on the flesh of kings and generals. The great powers of the earth end in disgrace, swallowed by death.
Zechariah 13:1; Romans 11:26–27 — “On that day there shall be a fountain opened…to cleanse them.”
While rebels rot, Israel is washed. A fountain of cleansing bursts forth for the nation. The same people despised by the world rise in redemption, forgiven and restored.
Matthew 25:32; Joel 3:12 — “He will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.”
The nations are gathered. No excuses. Every people and ruler is weighed by their treatment of His people—
Revelation 20:2–3 — “He seized the dragon…and bound him for a thousand years.”
Satan, the deceiver, is chained. His empire falls silent. And the cry goes forth across the earth: “The Lord will be king over all the earth.”

The world will rage. The Antichrist will boast. The nations will unite. But when the sky splits, every enemy collapses in an instant.
Daniel saw it in Babylon. John saw it on Patmos. Zechariah saw it in Jerusalem. And one day soon, the world itself will see it.
The rebellion ends.
The fountain flows.
The Kingdom begins.
The Son of Man will take the throne Daniel foresaw. The Ancient of Days has decreed it. The King will reign.
The only question is—will you bow to Him now in faith, or then in fear?
