The Two Mountains: Blessing and Cursing

🔥 The Two Mountains: Blessing and Cursing. Mount Gerizim and Mount Ebal stood as silent witnesses to God’s covenant with Israel. One offered blessing, the other warned of cursing. Together they declare: 👉 God is faithful to ALL His Word—His promises and His judgments. ⸻ 📖 Historical Fulfillment: This wasn’t symbolic. It literally happened. “Then Joshua built an altar to the Lord… on Mount Ebal.” — Joshua 8:30 Joshua inscribed the Law, read every word aloud, and divided the people as God commanded (Joshua 8:30–35). 📍The blessings and the curses were read over a literal land for a literal people. ✅ Mount Gerizim – Blessing through Obedience “If you faithfully obey… the LORD will set you high above all the nations… all these blessings shall come upon you.” — Deut 28:1–2 ⚠️ Mount Ebal – Cursing through Disobedience “If you will not obey… all these curses shall come upon you.” — Deut 28:15 “See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil.” — Deuteronomy 30:15🚨 Theological Warning – Church Arrogance: Many in the church today want to claim the blessings of Israel while shoving Israel onto Mount Ebal. 📍They want the land, favor, and promises—but not the curses. “Do not be arrogant toward the branches… remember it is not you who support the root.” — Romans 11:18 “They want Israel’s promises, but not her punishments. They want the crown, but not the covenant.” — anonymous teacher ⸻ Prophetic Future – This Will Happen Again In the Millennial Kingdom, nations will again be judged based on their response to the King. “Everyone who survives… shall go up year after year to worship the King… and if any… do not go up… there will be no rain.” — Zechariah 14:16–19 📍Mount Gerizim and Mount Ebal are not just past—they are future realities. Which Mountain Are You On? Are you claiming blessing while rejecting obedience? Do you want God’s favor but refuse to walk in His ways? “Why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I tell you?” — Luke 6:46 “Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.” — Galatians 6:7 ⸻ 🕊️ Let us walk humbly. Let us support Israel. Let us not twist God’s covenant into something it was never meant to be. And let us look forward to the day when blessing flows from Zion, not because we deserve it —but because the King has returned. ⸻
