“The Jews and Their Lies” — The Rotten Fruit of Supersessionism
⸻
Supersessionism (Replacement Theology) teaches that the Church has replaced Israel in God’s plan — that God is done with the Jewish people.
But when that false theology takes root, it produces bitter fruit.
⸻
Martin Luther’s 1543 treatise, The Jews and Their Lies, called for:
•Burning synagogues
•Destroying Jewish homes
•Confiscating Jewish writings
•Forcing Jews into labor camps
Luther’s work was used by Nazi propaganda four centuries later to justify the Holocaust.
⸻
The same man who rediscovered salvation by grace also embraced the heresy of Replacement Theology, and it twisted his view of Israel.
This is the spiritual danger of Supersessionism:
It undermines God’s faithfulness, distorts prophecy, and fuels antisemitism.
“They are beloved for the sake of their forefathers. For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.” — Romans 11:28–29
⸻
God is not finished with Israel.
•He still calls them “My people” (Hosea 2:23)
•He will bring them back to their land (Ezekiel 36–37)
•All Israel will be saved (Romans 11:26)
