Is יֵשׁוּעַ (Yeshua) the Fulfillment of the Messianic Prophecies.?

“Is יֵשׁוּעַ (Yeshua) the Fulfillment of the Messianic Prophecies.?” 1. Genesis 3:15 Prophecy: The seed of the woman will crush the serpent’s head. •Hebrew: זַרְעַן (zera‘) – “seed” Fulfillment: Jesus, the seed of the woman, defeated Satan through His death and resurrection. Galatians 4:4 - “But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman.” 2. Genesis 12:3 Prophecy: Through Abraham’s seed, all the nations of the earth would be blessed. •Hebrew: זַרְעַךְ (zera‘k) – “your seed” Fulfillment: Jesus, a descendant of Abraham, brought blessing to all nations through salvation. Matthew 1:1 - “The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.” 3. Isaiah 7:14 Prophecy: A virgin will conceive and bear a son, and His name will be Immanuel (God with us). •Hebrew: הַעַלְמָה (ha‘almāh) – “the virgin” Fulfillment: Jesus was born of the virgin Mary, fulfilling this prophecy. Matthew 1:23 - “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call His name Immanuel.” 4. Micah 5:2 Prophecy: The Messiah will be born in Bethlehem. •Hebrew: בֵּית לֶחֶם (Beit Lechem) – “House of Bread” Fulfillment: Jesus was born in Bethlehem, fulfilling this prophecy. Matthew 2:1 - “Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea…” 5. Isaiah 9:6 Prophecy: A child will be born who will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. •Hebrew: פֶּלֶא יוֹעֵץ (pele‘ yo‘etz) – “Wonderful Counselor” Fulfillment: Jesus is described in these ways, signifying His divine nature and role as the Messiah. Luke 2:11 - “For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” 6. Isaiah 53:3 Prophecy: The Messiah will be despised and rejected by men. •Hebrew: בָּזוּ (bāzû) – “despised” Fulfillment: Jesus was rejected by the Jewish people and suffered on the cross. John 1:11 - “He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him.” 7. Psalm 22:16-18 Prophecy: The Messiah’s hands and feet will be pierced, and people will cast lots for His clothes. •Hebrew: כָּאֲרוּ (kā’ārû) – “pierced” Fulfillment: Jesus was crucified, with His hands and feet pierced, and soldiers cast lots for His clothes. John 19:23-24 - “Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took His garments and made four parts…” 8. Zechariah 9:9 Prophecy: The Messiah will come to Jerusalem riding on a donkey, humble and bringing salvation. •Hebrew: עַל־חֲמוֹר (al ḥāmôr) – “on a donkey” Fulfillment: Jesus fulfilled this prophecy during His triumphal entry into Jerusalem. Matthew 21:5 - “Tell the daughter of Zion, ‘Behold, your King is coming to you, Lowly, and sitting on a donkey, A colt, the foal of a donkey.’” The Improbability of Fulfilling These Prophecies The statistical improbability of one person fulfilling all these prophecies is often cited by scholars as a demonstration of the miraculous nature of Jesus’ life. Here’s how the odds are calculated: •There are over 300 prophecies in the Old Testament that are traditionally understood to point to the Messiah. •For a single individual to fulfill just 8 of these prophecies by chance, the odds are astronomically low. •The probability of fulfilling just 8 prophecies (such as being born in Bethlehem, being pierced, riding on a donkey into Jerusalem, etc.) is calculated to be 1 in 10^17 (100 quadrillion). •Mathematical estimation: If we consider 8 of the prophecies, the likelihood is 1 in 10^17. To visualize this, imagine filling the state of Texas with silver dollars up to a depth of 2 feet, and then marking one coin. The chance of someone picking the marked coin on their first try is the same as the probability of one person fulfilling all 8 prophecies.
