Is King Jesus Ruling and Reigning from Jerusalem Now?

Is King Jesus Ruling and Reigning from Jerusalem Now? 1. Jesus’ Current Reign in Heaven Jesus is reigning from heaven, not from Jerusalem. •Seated at the Right Hand of the Father “The Lord says to my Lord: ‘Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies your footstool.’” – Psalm 110:1 •Ruling Over the Church Spiritually “And he put all things under his feet and gave him as head over all things to the church.” – Ephesians 1:22 2. A Large Portion of the Church Believes the Kingdom Is Now Many Christians believe Jesus’ reign is spiritual and present through the Church. •“The kingdom of God is in the midst of you.” – Luke 17:21 •However, this view ignores the literal promises of Christ’s reign from Jerusalem. 3. Jesus’ Future Reign from Jerusalem The Bible teaches Jesus will physically rule from Jerusalem in the Millennial Kingdom. •He Will Reign from David’s Throne “And the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever.” – Luke 1:32-33 •The Nations Will Worship in Jerusalem “At that time Jerusalem shall be called the throne of the Lord, and all nations shall gather to it.” – Jeremiah 3:17 •His Rule Will Bring Justice and Peace “For out of Zion shall go the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.” – Isaiah 2:3 4. Jesus Will Return to the Mount of Olives Jesus will physically return to Earth, landing on the Mount of Olives. •“On that day his feet shall stand on the Mount of Olives that lies before Jerusalem on the east.” – Zechariah 14:4 •“This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go.” – Acts 1:11 •“Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him.” – Revelation 1:7 5. Why This Matters •Jesus’ Future Reign Is Literal – It fulfills God’s covenant with Israel and David (2 Samuel 7:12-16). •The World Is Not Yet Under His Rule – Satan is still “the god of this world” (2 Corinthians 4:4). •The Kingdom Will Come at His Second Coming – His 1,000-year reign begins after His return (Revelation 20:4-6). Jesus is not yet ruling from Jerusalem. His kingdom is not fully realized on Earth. His literal rule will begin at His Second Coming, when He lands on the Mount of Olives, defeats His enemies, and establishes His Millennial Kingdom. “Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” – Matthew 6:10
