1. Is the Church a “new Israel”?
No.
The Church is not Israel and has not replaced Israel.
•Romans 11:1 – “Has God rejected His people? By no means!”
•Romans 11:17-24 – Gentiles are grafted into the olive tree, not replacing the natural branches.
•Jeremiah 31:35–37 – God says Israel will never cease to be a nation before Him.
•Galatians 3:7 – Gentiles become spiritual sons of Abraham, but not physical Israel.
⸻
2. Is the Church a “new creation”?
Yes.
The Church is a new, distinct body formed by the indwelling Holy Spirit—Jew and Gentile united in Christ, not erasing Jewish identity.
•Ephesians 2:14-16 – One new man in Christ, but distinct from Israel.
•1 Corinthians 10:32 – “Give no offense to Jews or to Greeks or to the Church of God.” (3 groups)
•Acts 2 – The Church began at Pentecost, not in the Old Testament.
⸻
So, what is the Church?
The Church is:
•A new body (Ephesians 1:22–23)
•Formed at Pentecost (Acts 2)
•Made up of Jews and Gentiles united in Christ
•Not the “new Israel” but a mystery revealed in the New Testament (Ephesians 3:4–6)
