Foretold in Scripture. Fulfilled in History. Denied Only in Rebellion.
Long before Jesus ever walked the dusty streets of Galilee, His story was already written—in sacred scrolls penned by Jewish prophets under divine inspiration.
The odds of one man fulfilling just 8 of these prophecies is 1 in 10¹⁷ (Peter Stoner).
Jesus fulfilled over 100.
Jesus said:
“These are the very Scriptures that testify about Me.” (John 5:39)
“Everything written about Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.” (Luke 24:44)
But what even the rabbis sensed—though dimly—was that the Messiah would come twice.
One Messiah, Two Roles: Jewish Tradition’s Hidden Key
In classical Judaism, conflicting Messianic portraits in Scripture led to the belief in two distinct Messiahs:
Messiah ben Yosef – the suffering servant
Messiah ben David – the conquering king
Talmud Sukkah 52a, Zohar II 212a, and Pesikta Rabbati 36 describe Mashiach ben Yosef as suffering and even dying before redemption.

Jesus: Both Messiah ben Yosef and Messiah ben David
As Messiah ben Yosef, Jesus:
•Was despised and rejected
•Was pierced for our transgressions
•Bore our griefs and died
•Came riding humbly on a donkey
As Messiah ben David, He will:
•Return in glory and power
•Destroy Israel’s enemies (Zechariah 14)
•Rule from Jerusalem (Isaiah 2:2–4)
•Be recognized by His people (Zechariah 12:10)
“Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him—even those who pierced Him…” (Revelation 1:7)
The Case for Jesus Is Jewish
He fulfilled the role of the Lamb, and soon He will return as the Lion.
“To Him all the prophets bear witness.” (Acts 10:43)
“The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” (Revelation 19:10)
He is Messiah ben Yosef – the servant who suffered.
He is Messiah ben David – the King who returns.
“These Messianic passages are not Christian interpolations. They are Jewish prophecy.” — Alfred Edersheim
