Do not be arrogant toward the branches - Romans 11:18

▶️ 1. Jesus Was and Is Jewish Revelation 5:5 – “Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered.” Jesus is not only the Messiah of Israel—He remains Jewish for eternity. He never renounced His identity or heritage. ⸻ ▶️ 2. The Jewish People Are the Natural Branches Romans 11:17–18 – “If some of the branches were broken off, and you, although a wild olive shoot, were grafted in… do not be arrogant toward the branches.” Paul calls Gentile believers wild branches and the Jews natural branches. Gentiles do not replace Israel—they are grafted in beside her. ⸻ ▶️ 3. The Faith of Israel Came First Romans 9:4–5 – “To them belong the adoption, the glory, the covenants… the patriarchs, and from their race, according to the flesh, is the Christ.” The Jewish people received the Word of God, the covenants, and the Messiah first. Christianity is not a disconnected religion—it is the fulfillment of promises given to Israel. ⸻ ▶️ 4. Judaism Is Not a “Younger” Religion Judaism today is a continuation of the covenant people of the Old Testament. While it lacks recognition of Jesus as Messiah, it still holds the Scriptures, calendar, and laws entrusted to Israel by God. ▶️ Romans 3:2 – “To them were entrusted the oracles of God.” ⸻ ▶️ 5. “Elder Brother” Is a Biblical Concept Paul calls the Jewish people beloved and says: Romans 11:28–29 – “As regards election, they are beloved… for the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.” God still sees Israel as His covenant people—even in unbelief. We honor them not because of current belief, but because of God’s promise. To dishonor Israel is to dishonor God’s Word. We are to reject sin and falsehood, yes—but Scripture never teaches us to reject the Jewish people. Instead: ▶️ Psalm 122:6 – “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.” ▶️ Genesis 12:3 – “I will bless those who bless you…”
