Are We in the Millennial Kingdom Now?
Spoiler: No. And believing we are has massive consequences.
Let’s walk through why the Kingdom is future, why it matters, and why it will be literal.
⸻
1. The Bible Teaches the Kingdom Comes After Jesus Returns
Revelation 19:11 — “Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! …He will strike down the nations.”
Revelation 20:4 — “They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.”
Luke 19:11–12 — Jesus told a parable “because they supposed the kingdom of God was to appear immediately…”
Matthew 6:10 — “Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth…”
The Kingdom begins after Jesus physically returns in glory.

2. The Real Kingdom Looks RADICALLY Different From Today
Isaiah 2:2–4 — “All nations shall flow to [Jerusalem]… They shall beat their swords into plowshares.”
Isaiah 11:6–9 — “The wolf shall dwell with the lamb… the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD.”
Zechariah 14:16 — “Everyone… shall go up… to worship the King, the LORD of hosts.”
Revelation 20:3 — “He bound Satan… so that he might not deceive the nations any longer.”
Today: Satan is active, nations rage, Jerusalem is hated, and peace is elusive.
This is NOT the Kingdom.

3. Why Do So Many Christians Think We Are in the Kingdom?
Augustine allegorized prophecy (City of God)
Roman Catholicism made itself the “spiritual kingdom”
Reformed theology inherited this amillennial view
Modern pastors repeat it without reexamining Scripture
“Amillennialism is not the result of careful exegesis, but inherited tradition.” — Dr. Thomas Ice

4. Kingdom Now Theology Weakens the Church
It leads to:
Ignoring Israel’s prophetic future (Rom. 11:25–29)
Downplaying Satan’s current activity
Confusing the Church’s role in this age (7 mountain mandate)
Replacing urgency with dominionism
His Kingdom won’t come gradually through revival or politics.
It will come suddenly, visibly, and supernaturally.
“If Satan is bound right now, he must be on a very long leash.”
Dr. David Reagan
“The Church is not the Kingdom — it is the bride waiting for the King.” Mark Hitchcock

5. The Coming Kingdom Will Be Real, Global, and Jewish
Isaiah 24:23 — “The LORD of hosts will reign on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem.”
Ezekiel 37:21–28 — “My servant David shall be king over them… they shall dwell in the land I gave to Jacob.”
Revelation 20:6 — “They will reign with Him for a thousand years.”
Isaiah 35:1–10 — “The desert shall rejoice and blossom… the ransomed of the LORD shall return with singing.”
The Millennium is Eden restored — ruled by King Jesus from Zion.
⸻
Titus 2:13 — “Waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.”

7. Why Will There Be a Literal Millennial Kingdom?
To fulfill the Abrahamic Covenant
Gen. 15:18 — “To your offspring I give this land…”
Israel has never fully inhabited the land that God promised to her.
To fulfill the Davidic Covenant
2 Sam. 7:13 — “I will establish the throne of His kingdom forever.”
King Jesus is not yet ruling in Jerusalem.
To vindicate God’s name before the nations
Ezek. 36:23 — “I will vindicate the holiness of My great name…”
To reverse the curse on creation
Isaiah 11:6–9 — Peace between animals and man
To fulfill resurrection promises
Rev. 20:4 — “They came to life and reigned with Christ…”
To prove mankind still needs redemption
Rev. 20:7–9 — Even in a perfect world, many still rebel
“If God doesn’t fulfill His promises to Israel literally, how can the Church trust His promises for salvation?”
Dr. John Walvoord

Wake up, Church. The Millennial Kingdom is not here — but it’s coming.
Revelation 22:20 — “Surely I am coming soon.”
And every promise God made will be fulfilled exactly as written.
Look up. The King is coming.
