Are One Million Jews (יְהוּדִים) Really Following Yeshua (יֵשׁוּעַ)? Author Joel Rosenberg has said recently that over one million Jewish people (Yehudim, יְהוּדִים) worldwide believe in Jesus (Yeshua, יֵשׁוּעַ) as the Messiah. This is a remarkable fulfillment of biblical prophecy and a growing movement in both Israel and the nations. Biblical Support for Jewish Belief in Yeshua: 1.Zechariah 12:10 – “And I will pour upon the house of David (בֵּית דָּוִד), and upon the inhabitants of Yerushalayim (יְרוּשָׁלַיִם), the spirit of chen (חֵן) and of supplications: and they shall look upon Me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for Him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for Him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.” 2.Romans 11:25-26 – “For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Yisrael (יִשְׂרָאֵל), until the fullness of the Goyim (גּוֹיִם) be come in. And so all Yisrael shall be saved.” 3.Isaiah 53:3-5 – “He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief… But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed.” 4.Ezekiel 37:4-6 (The Dry Bones Prophecy) – “Again He said unto me, Prophesy upon these atzamot (עֲצָמוֹת), and say unto them, O ye dry atzamot, hear the word of Adonai (אֲדֹנָי). Thus saith Adonai Elohim (אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה) unto these atzamot; Behold, I will cause ruach (רוּחַ) to enter into you, and ye shall live.” This prophecy speaks of Israel’s physical and spiritual restoration. The return of Jewish people to their land in 1948 was the first stage (the bones coming together), but the breath of life—spiritual revival—is happening now as more Yehudim come to faith in Yeshua. Spurgeon on Israel’s Restoration: “I think we do not attach sufficient importance to the restoration of the Jews. We do not think enough about it. But certainly, if there is anything promised in the Bible it is this. The day shall yet come when the Jews, who were the first missionaries to the Gentiles, shall be gathered in again. Until that shall be, the fulness of the church’s glory can never come.” The return of the Jews to faith in Yeshua is an undeniable sign of Elohim’s (אֱלֹהִים) hand in history. Could it be that we are witnessing the early stages of Israel’s spiritual awakening foretold in the Tanakh (תַּנַ”ךְ)? What do you think? Are these Jewish believers fulfilling prophecy?
