5 Reasons Full Preterism is Not Biblical

▶️ 1. Jesus’ Return Was Prophesied as Bodily and Visible “This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.” — Acts 1:11 This was not figurative or symbolic. His return will be just as physical and visible as His ascension. ⸻ ▶️ 2. Revelation’s Events Clearly Go Beyond AD 70 The judgments of the seals, trumpets, and bowls (Revelation 6–16) describe global devastation, not just the fall of Jerusalem. For example: “A third of mankind was killed…” — Revelation 9:18 This did not happen in AD 70. The scope of these judgments is worldwide and unprecedented. ⸻ ▶️ 3. Resurrection and Final Judgment Are Future Events Paul speaks of a future resurrection and judgment: “For the Lord himself will descend… and the dead in Christ will rise first.” — 1 Thessalonians 4:16 “He has fixed a day on which he will judge the world…” — Acts 17:31 AD 70 was a judgment on Jerusalem, not the whole world. ⸻ ▶️ 4. The Kingdom Will Be Physical and Earthly at Christ’s Return “They will reign with him for a thousand years.” — Revelation 20:4 Jesus will return to rule on Earth from Jerusalem (Isaiah 2:2–4; Zechariah 14:4, 9), fulfilling the promises of the Davidic Covenant (2 Samuel 7:12–16). ⸻ ▶️ 5. Jesus Did Not Teach a “Hidden, Non-Observable” Coming While the kingdom is spiritual in the hearts of believers now (Luke 17:21), it will be manifest physically when He returns. “Immediately after the tribulation… they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.” — Matthew 24:30▶️ Christian Voices: Mark Hitchcock writes: “Full Preterism destroys the blessed hope of the Church and turns the glorious Second Coming into a past, local judgment event.” David Jeremiah adds: “The Bible teaches a real, visible, physical return of Christ to establish His kingdom on Earth.”
